[…]colours are strong, sometimes dangerous to mix; the theme chosen are made of suggestion more than pinpoint sketches. The breath of life is present, love too and when some boat is represented it is no regular one but an invitation to a long way trip. The artist is not joining the abstract art because of a lack of technique but definitely wants to remain in the realm of suggestion more than picture. It is neither reality projection nor photographic representation. These should be pictures out of remembrance, records of forgotten situations the visitor will understand at first view. Avendano’s painting is a permanent interrogation and finally seems to conclude: “the reality does not exist; the memory is the only one to keep an exact record of life events.”
